Abstract:
Superhydrophobic coating is widely used in industry, electronics, construction and other fields because of its excellent waterproof and self-cleaning properties. However, durability issues significantly limit its practical application. In order to improve the durability of the superhydrophobic coating, various strategies have been proposed, such as nanoparticle and binder optimization, surface modification, composite application, and self-healing methods. In this paper, the durability performance and application prospects of superhydrophobic coatings prepared by these improved methods in terms of wear, corrosion, thermal stability, UV resistance and antimicrobial resistance were reviewed. The development direction and challenges of superhydrophobic coatings in future research and practical applications were also prospected.
